Profile Overview

The Data Protection Officer for Manyame Rural District Council is responsible for ensuring the Council’s full compliance with the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] and its supporting statutory instruments. The role involves overseeing all data processing activities, conducting internal compliance audits, and guiding the organization on best practices for the protection and lawful handling of personal information. As DPO she is committed to strengthening data governance and promoting a culture of privacy and security across the Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for all data subjects regarding the processing and protection of their personal information within Manyame Rural District Council.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with national data protection laws, including identifying, managing, and reporting data breaches to POTRAZ.
  • Provide expert advice to Council staff on data protection obligations, risk mitigation, and secure data handling procedures.
  • Lead staff training and awareness initiatives to ensure a well-informed and privacy-conscious workforce.
  • Manage data subject requests, including the right of access, rectification, restriction, and erasure of personal data.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on matters relating to privacy, data protection, and compliance.

Manyame RDC accepts payment in  both local and foreign currency. These payments can be swipe; bank transfer, cash deposit, Ecocash online or cash paid in person at Council offices in Beatrice; Dema and Chikhwana.
